COVID-19 Update From Daniella Levi NYC
Dear friends,
For starters, we hope that you and your loved ones are safe and healthy during this pandemic. We wanted to share a few things with you about your case, our office and NYC courts.
Medical Treatment
Many of you have asked about how to handle medical treatments and appointments during this shutdown period. We suggest that you contact your medical providers to find out whether they are seeing patients. If they are, and you wish to go, please go ahead, however do so while observing CDC guidelines regarding your safety and the safety of others.
In the event that your medical providers are not seeing patients, and/or you do not want to go because of health safety concerns relating to COVID-19, please let your medical provider know, ask that they make the appropriate notations in your medical chart.
In addition, you may ask where possible, that they conduct a virtual exam and/or prescribe home therapies and exercises. This too, should be noted and included as part of your medical chart.
Our Office
Our main office number 718-380-1010 is fully operational and our office has been successfully operating remotely. Our legal team has full access to all the necessary software and files and we continue to work tirelessly on behalf of all of our clients and we continue to accept new clients. Our legal team is available via telephone, e mail, zoom, face time, skype etc. Therefore, if you need to reach me, or any member of your legal team please reach out to us via telephone or e mail and let us know which is your preferred method of communication. Also please note, that we are conducting depositions, mediations and arbitrations virtually with great success. Further, pursuant to the March 7, 2020 Governor Cuomo’s order, documents can be virtually notarized allowing for the smooth and orderly processing of settlement.
NYC Courts
Governor Cuomo has just extended the shutdown in NYC until April 29, 2020 and during this time, we anticipate the courts in New York to remain closed, with the exception of emergency proceedings. (Although, it is worth noting that there is a plan in the works to expand the virtual operation of the NYC courts beyond only emergency proceedings.) We will keep you posted as to any new developments in that regard.
